I was learning to describe the purpose of a character.  Now I know that you need to use quotes, get inside the charters head and you need to have facts too.  It was easy because I did understand it clearly and I enjoyed it too.

I was learning to use persuasive writing.  Now I know that opinions are very important for growing up because we need to add detail by giving reasons.

I was learning to tell the time.  Now I know the long hand always points to the three when it is quarter past.  It was tricky because it was new and it was confusing to count the minutes.

I was learning to use direct speech. Now i know that you need to add speech marks

Identifying parts of speech

I was learning to identify parts of speech.  Now I know what a noun, adjective, verb and adverb are.  It was tricky to look through the book and find the different examples because there was a lot to read.

Making equal shares

I was learning division by making equal shares.  Now I know I can use halves or repeated addition to find out how many go in each group.  It was hard to find out what would be in each group.

I was learning to look for features of a non-fiction text.  Now I know that a contents page tells us where to find the information we want.

I was learning to write a Introduction, body and a conclusion in my writing.  I learnt that you need to put a hook in your introduction.  It was a little bit tricky because it was hard to think about what you needed in each part.

I was learning how to understand multiplication.  Now I know the proper way to say 5 x 5 is 5 groups of 5.  It was tricky because I have never done multiplication before.

I was learning to spell blend sounds. I know all my blend sounds already.

It was easy to do my blend sounds because last year I learnt all my blends.

I was learning to make connections. I learnt how to make connections. It was tricky to make connections because I'v not made connections before.
